Papermaking is one of the rare crafts that sits at the intersection of history, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Its easy to forget, in a world of glowing screens and cloud storage, that the humble sheet of paper has been the backbone of human progress for nearly two millennia. Yet behind every page - whether handmade or industrial produced - lies a story of transformation.
I am the Quality Manager for a global paper manufacturer. Before I started this job I didnt give papermaking a second thought, but to think that you can take trees and they end up as textbooks or recycled OCC (old corregated containers) like the bundled cardboard from Walmart and make a brand new Amazon box is amazing.
I would love to hear from you, do any of you have any experiences with papermaking?
